Over the years, we’ve saved and archived course syllabi, study guides, and insights from classes across subjects.
Our experience with the Paly curriculum will be shared with your student to help him or her stay on top of their coursework and ahead of the curve.

Is an alumni, student, or PhD from Stanford, Yale, Harvard, MIT, Hopkins, or another top 10 university. We’ve found mentorship from a tutor with a history of academic excellence helps inspire students.
Can teach your student for multiple years, if it’s a good fit. We've found students strongly prefer continuity in their tutors, particularly with tutors they absolutely love.
Will teach fundamental study skills to your student. Teaching our students proper study habits can save them hours of energy and time in high school and college. Our goal as tutors is to eliminate our students’ need for us.

Matthew is an undergraduate student at Stanford University with over 6 years of experience teaching high school and AP-level physics and math.
Matthew graduated as Salutatorian of his competitive, tech-focused magnet high school in Southern California.
As an academic competitor, he ranked top 20 at IEM International Physics Olympiad competition, top 50 in the first round of 19-20 USAMTS (USA Mathematical Talent Search), and was awarded the Rensselaer Math & Science Medal. For his work in school, he was recognized as a National Merit Scholar and a National AP Scholar.
His tutoring experience ranges from private 1:1 tutoring to working with classes of 15-60 students, through which he has learned to quickly adapt to different learning styles.

Science — Ellen’s Biography
Ellen is a Yale undergraduate student who has tutored for over 7 years in various subjects, including high school-level math and science.
Ellen was in the top 5% of her class at Stuyvesant High School in New York.
She has over 300 hours of tutoring experience, including more than 150 hours of virtual tutoring, with education and test prep companies such as Yale Young Global Scholars.
In addition to conducting in-depth biological neuroscience research at the Yale School of Medicine's Blumenfeld lab, she's deeply interested in interdisciplinary studies that combine STEM and the humanities, serving as Yale STEAM's president.
She majors in Molecular and Cellular Biology and has extensive experience in all STEM subjects.

Math — Gabrielle’s Biography
Gabrielle is a master’s student at MIT who has tutored for over 6 years in K-12 math and SAT Reading, Writing, and Math.
She has over 1000 hours of tutoring experience with organizations such as the Russian School of Math and the MIT Academic Teaching Initiative. She has worked with over 400 students.
She has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from MIT and a minor in Music. She also completed numerous education classes.
She has experience competing internationally as the former president of the MIT Robotics Team. She also TA-ed Robotics Science and Systems at MIT and received an impressive 6.9/7.0 rating. The class, which contains ~100 students, is commonly known as one of the most intense computer science classes at MIT.
In high school, Gabrielle achieved a 2370 on her SAT. She also received perfect 5s in AP Language, AP US History, AP Computer Science, AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, and AP Physics C.

Writing - Sarah’s Biography
Sarah is an undergraduate junior studying English and International & Public Affairs.
Sarah has also worked with students independently as a writing and college guidance tutor. Students she has advised have gone on to receive recognition from the National YoungArts Foundation and other writing competitions, and have been admitted to Yale, the University of Pennsylvania, Bowdoin College, and other top schools.
At her university, she spent three years working as a professor-nominated Writing Partner at her university’s Writing Center, where she helped students one-on-one with essays at all stages of the writing process. She served as a senior editor at The New Journal.
She has 3 years of experience tutoring high school and middle school students in essay writing and reading comprehension across academic disciplines, ranging from English and history to science research papers. Her one-on-one sessions with students emphasize clear essay structure and organization in order to provide a writing foundation that fosters logical, well-supported papers.
